We were supposed to run the Isle Of Palms connector run event but they canceled it because of the hurricane! At least all the money went to charities in SC anyway. We went out to Sullivans Island to check the waves and the flooding and we did some running anyway and went to Dunleavys.
My name is Aidan Sabine and I am in the sixth grade at East Cooper Montessori School. For my Peace Project this year I am training for the Cooper River Bridge Run. This will be my fifth 10k!!!
I am doing this to raise money for babies in the NICU at MUSC Children's Hospital and also to make more people want to walk and run and be healthy. If you would like to support my walks and runs, you can help me by clicking the 'Donate' button below or send a check to:

Welcome Back To My Blog!
I'm starting the 6th grade and I'm starting up my blog again after my summer break. On summer break we did a lot of boating and surfing. I'm going to track my miles starting from this Saturday when we hiked 8 miles. I will update my blog each week and let you know the total miles and donations. I will do the bridge run again in the Spring this year with my family! Thank you for following my blog.
First Hiking Club Hike!
I have joined a school hiking club with my brother and a group of other people in my school and our leader is my teacher Mr. Zak. On Saturday, we went to Wannamaker Park north trail in North Charleston and we hiked 8 miles! It was great and I had a lot of fun. My Dad came too.
my neighborhood
This is one of many neighborhood runs that I do periodically. It's hard to run in the summer when it's really hot. My favorite place to run is on the beach but sometimes there is not enough time in the day to go out there.
Botany Bay Beach hike
My family and I went to Botany Bay for the day and that is near Edisto, SC. On this hike, we saw many shells but we were not allowed to pick any up to keep. It was cloudy that day and we thought it was going to rain but the rain held out and we were able to finish our hike.
Atlanta July 4th 10k
On July 4th, 2015 Atlanta hosted their annual Peachtree Road Race 10k and my whole family participated with friends. This run was very tricky because it rained really hard the whole way (6.2 miles!) and it was very hilly. This was my favorite run I have ever done though because I just enjoyed it!
A Walk For The Victims Of The Charleston Shooting
A few days after the June 17, 2015 shooting of nine people at the Emanuel Church in downtown Charleston the whole city gathered at the foot of the Cooper River Bridge. We walked 2.5 miles to the top of the bridge and back in support of the families of the victims. It was a very sad and meaningful experience. I hope nothing like this will never ever happen again.

The Bridge Run!
I finished the bridge run! My goal was under an hour and I did it in 54 minuets! I have been training for this all year and I reached my goal. I have donated the money I raised to MUSC. I raised $1,000! The bridge run was great this year! The weather was perfect and I felt great! I will also be doing another 10k called the Peach Tree. This is the biggest 10k in the world! I am very exited for that!
Thank you so much to everyone who has donated to my project so far! I am keeping it going throughout the school year!
The path
This is a three mile path behind our neighborhood. We do it a lot because three miles is a good run.
Backpack up the Bridge
I am a Boy Scout and we were going on a overnight hike. We pack our bags with all the things that we would need. Then we took a 2 mile up the bridge and back. I'm the person in the green shirt over by the far fence.
A Rainy Run
I went on a run on the bridge with my family. We did not think it would rain so we went. We were surprised when it rained. We ran anyway. This was a four mile run. The rain made it more fun to run because it was a change.
Wierd weather ride
A couple days after the Bridge Run, I took a bike ride with my dad. It was a windy day and it was hard to pedal in the sand against the wind. We saw some wave shaped clouds and about 20 jellyfish. The wind was so strong that I used my hat as a sail and rode the winds. The water was a really dark blue.

Getting ready for the bridge run
This is a picture of me at last year's bridge run. The conditions last year were just about perfect and I hope they are as good this year. First we will run the Chase the Leprechaun run this Thursday which is a great way to get ready for the big run because it's only 3.1 miles.
a picture is worth a thousand runs!
I have been doing lots of running to get ready for the Cooper River Bridge Run! I don't have pictures of all my miles but my total miles for the month of February was 38 miles!
neighborhood connections
In my neighborhood there is a path towards another neighborhood that leads into another one. This is a 3 mile run altogether. Sometimes our dog Winston comes with us.
a 3 mile run
My normal distance for running is a 3 mile run. I run on beaches, tracks, paths, and roads. I don't always take pictures of all my runs. 3 milers are my favorite distance to run!

The bridge run is coming!
I am training for another bridge run! This year I plan to do it in under an hour! This run was 2 miles to the top of the bridge and back. I will do a couple of these so I can get used to the steep hill!
Thanks for supporting my Blog! Look at the posts under this one so you can see all the runs I've done this Year!
The neighborhood saga
This is one of a lot of neighborhood runs that we do to train for the bridge run. This one was about 2 miles and the others range from 1-3 miles so far. WE do not take pictures of most of them because we run every other day.
Park west wander
I went to the Park west opening to the laurel hill trail and ran 2 miles. This is a fairly new path so its clean and wide. It is a nice run because its not on tarmac and it is pretty flat. After the run we ran and rolled down this hill.
3 mile walk downtown
I took a three mile walk downtown to look at all the places. Downtown is cool because you can see architecture and learn history at the same time and place! This picture shows me at the cannon street park were there is a fountain you can walk around.
7 mile hike
We went for a 7 mile hike to Calloway peak. The main thing on this hike was there was a lot of ice! It was fun to half skate half slip on the trail. It was fun to pick the icicles and throw them into a rock. There where also these mysterious ice figures that came out of the ground. They came in small clusters and where easily crushed. There was also a crashed airplane that you could go through the wreckage. You had to climb some ladders to get to the peak. It was really scary to lay on the rock at the peak.

mile high bridge
We went for a hike to the mile high bridge on Grand father mountain. IT was really scary because it was a windy day. I got freaked out when I stood on the mile high point. As the wind blows, the bridge make a whistling noise and sways back and forth. To top it off, the mile high point is about 8 feet wide with no trees to break the wind and there was ice all around it.
Hike in the snow
We went to North Carolina for the winter break! This was one of the hikes we did. We were lucky enough to have snow! The green leaves in the picture were EVERYWHERE and the snow covered them with a thick layer. They were good for harvesting snow for snow balls. I tried to put hot hands in my shoes but that just made it really uncomfortable to hike. It continued to snow throughout the hike.
Audubon Swamp
I ran in the Audubon Swamp. It's really cool and pretty with the moss and the Cyprus knees.
The dock is nice to run on your in the swamp, but still on a nice flat, hard surface. It is cool when the water is completely covered in algae.
